Facebook as we know it, is a super-effective marketing machine that lets you reach, engage, and convert users into customers! But this also means it becomes extremely competitive to get what you want. Many times even after running ad campaigns you don’t get the results you desire. So in this short article, I am going to

  1. remind you of 3 tricks that you might know exist for a while but you never used them and
  2. Suggest you why you should use them!

I personally believe that short articles are better as they are not boring and get across to the point fast. So let’s begin!

1. Facebook Page invites

I know I know! you would say we all do this when we create a new page for our client. But I am not talking about the “invite your friends” tool. I am talking about “invite people who liked your page posts / Facebook ads”.

I am sure you would have noticed this alert forever — “XYZ liked your photo.help them see more of your content by inviting them” But do you know it is super effective and can increase your page audience by up to 30 %? Just Imagine, these are the people who liked your ads/content for some good reason and chances are they might like your future content as well! Who knows they might be your loyal future customers!!

So instead of having your good pal John like your page (who will just like your every post for the love of friendship), don’t you think it will be more lucrative to have some unknown Sally(who genuinely liked your ad) like / follow your page!

Now you might say Facebook pages are dead, no one really cares what is being posted there! But my dear friend while running ads when people come to your page, don’t you think a page with 10000 likes still feels more trustworthy than a page with 300 likes! Because you never know which post might attract someone and make that purchase happen. As social media marketers, we must not leave any stone unturned!

So that’s my first trick, Inviting people who liked your page content / engaged with your ads!

2. Facebook Messenger Invites:

If you already know what I am talking about and use this already, BRAVO !! You can skip this point and directly go to the 3rd. But for those who don’t use this, do you know Facebook messenger open rate is higher than 80%!

Facebook messenger open rate is higher than 80%

What this means is, most of the people you send messages to, believe it, or not, open it! That notification number really gets to people! Now it’s a whole different story if they ignore you after that or interact with you. When you use “invite your friends”, there is also an option of sending a personal message along with the invitation. Imagine people getting page invites all the time, and if they get an invite with a personal message along with an invitation in messenger, chances of accepting that invite increase drastically.

No one really uses this simple but super effective option that Facebook provides. These people you invite are already in your circle and know a thing or two about you. So if they see a message along with the invite, chances are, they would readily like the page.

Earlier you could even compose the message your send along with the invite but now Facebook does not allow that option for some good reason.

Another thing to note is that you can send messenger invite to only up to 50 people at a time. This is to prevent spamming. You have to take some efforts but they are totally worth it! You could just send invites to 50 friends per day and see the growth slowly. It will also give you page boost over a longer time and you won’t miss out on inviting newly added friends!

3. Facebook Page Transparency:

This trick is my favorite because it is so useful to get started with your ads if you have no clue where to start!

Do you know you can directly see what ads your competitors are running on Facebook? Since the cases involving misuse of ads arose, Facebook incorporated this change to bring transparency on its platform with the ads being run! And this feature allows any user to see all the ads that are currently being run by any business page on Facebook.

Just go to the info section of any page -> click on page transparency and you will see tabs like -> ‘Page history’, ‘People who manage this Page’, and ‘Ads from this Page’. Click on “Go to Ad Library” and Voila! you will see all the ads the page is running right now.

Check this image for example. I randomly searched fitness and opened the Gold’s Gym India page:

Imagine you can see all the ads being run currently by your favorite brand/competitor!

You can use this to know -

  1. For how long they are running this ad
  2. what kind of creative they are using
  3. how many variations they are having for the same ad
  4. Which platform they are running the ad on (Instagram / Facebook),
  5. The CTA they are using,
  6. the landing page,
  7. the description,
  8. And if you dig deeper who knows much more !!

I know I know this is a mind-blowing and really amazing reference point. That’s why I said this is my favorite. It gives you insights into what you might want to include in your ads.

Now you won’t see the budgets, engagements, leads, and all that but come on! isn’t this enough already! Plus remember just like you did, anyone else can see your ads as well.

Maybe the whole purpose of this initiative was to bring about transparency and Efficiency. Won’t it be less painful for Facebook to manage ads if all the marketers ran high-quality ads!

I hope these 3 tricks will help you gain more audience (invites) / reach the audience in a better way (page transparency).

Final Note:

The 3 super effective Facebook tricks that not many of us use are -

1. Inviting people who engaged with ads.

2. Messenger Invites: Sending personal messages along with page invites.

3. Page Transparency: Analysing Competitor ads.

Hope this article is useful to you! Happy Advertising!

Cheers!
